Questions

How long does permanent makeup last?

Permanent makeup is semi-permanent. The pigment fades gradually, and most people come back for a color refresh every one to three years, depending on skin type, sun exposure and skincare. [ Studio to confirm: touch-up timing and terms. ]

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as mild discomfort rather than pain, and everyone feels it a little differently. Topical numbing is commonly used, so ask your artist what they use and what to expect for your service.

What should I do before my appointment?

For a day or two before, skip alcohol and caffeine, and avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil unless a doctor prescribed them. Keep retinol and peels away from the area for a couple of weeks, and avoid tanning or sunburn there. Tell your artist about any health conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy or recent Botox. Your artist sends their own prep instructions when you book.
